Questions

Roughly how much will it cost?
We don't have a price yet, and we won't guess one here. The first robots will be expensive because they are built by hand in small numbers. When we know, Founding Families hear it first.
Is it slower than a person?
Yes, at first — noticeably slower. It works while you are out, so it doesn't have to be fast; it has to be careful and finish the job. We'll show real speed on every video.
What happens if the power goes out, or it bumps into something?
The base stops and the arms are designed to hold their position instead of dropping. On contact it slows and backs off. When its battery runs low it stops what it is doing and goes back to its dock.
Can I buy Anew today?
Not yet. Anew is in development. We are inviting a small number of Founding Families to help shape it.
Does someone control it remotely?
It is designed to work on its own. If it ever needs help from a person on our team, it will ask first, show you who is connected, and you can say no. Our privacy page explains this.
What about the cameras in my home?
What it sees is processed inside your home whenever possible. Privacy mode turns cameras and microphones off at the source. Our privacy page lists what stays home and what doesn't.
Is it safe around children and pets?
Safety comes first: a physical stop button, a stop button in the app, a robot that stops on its own if it loses contact, and speed and force limits around people. Our safety page also lists what it can't do yet.
Where will it be made?
Our goal is to build Anew in the United States.
